Prince Albert II Foundation holds first Board of Directors meeting for 2017
On 21 April 2017, the Board of Directors of the Prince Albert II Foundation held its first meeting of the year, chaired by H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince. Since it was established, the Foundation has initiated or supported 396 projects worth EUR 36 million. Eighty-eight projects are currently being implemented.

The Ocean Energy Systems meets in Monaco
The thirty-second meeting of the Ocean Energy Systems was held in Monaco on Monday 10th April 2017 in the presence of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco and representatives from the organisation’s twenty-four member states.
Founded in 2001, the Ocean Energy Systems is a global technological initiative devoted to marine energy. This task force depends on the International Energy Agency in Paris. The mission of the Ocean Energy Systems is “to ensure that energy from the sea becomes increasingly sustainable in the future.
Signature d’un Manifeste de Monaco pour l’Océan dans le cadre de la Monaco Ocean Week
Dans le cadre de la Monaco Ocean Week qui a réuni près de 1 000 participants autour d’une trentaine d’événements, a été publié le Manifeste de Monaco pour alerter les États, les ONG, les institutions nationales et internationales, les entreprises et les scientifiques sur la nécessaire union de toutes leurs énergies au service de la préservation de l’océan et de l’ensemble des écosystèmes marins de la planète.
Pelagos Headquarters Agreement signed in Monaco
On 3rd April 2017 the Minister of State's Residence hosted the signing ceremony for the Headquarters Agreement between the Government of Monaco, France, Italy and the permanent Secretariat of the Pelagos agreement.
Against the backdrop of events unfolding during Monaco Ocean Week, the signing took place in the presence of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco and the French and Italian Ministers of the Environment, Mrs Ségolène Royal and Mr Gian Luca Galletti. The signing of the Headquarters Agreement will provide for the recognition of the legal status of the Pelagos Permanent Secretariat in the Principality. This is a key milestone in regard to the involvement of the member states in order to strengthen this sanctuary for marine mammals.
